HAPPY EASTER!. ¡FELIZ SEMANA SANTA!

Our Language Assistant Jenny was in charge of presenting 'How is Easter celebrated in the USA?' to our students. Our students enjoyed themselves a lot since they learnt lots of new facts, such as how to dye an Easter Egg, how to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt, who Easter Bunny is and what cross buns are.

Nuestra Auxiliar Lingüística Jenny fue la encargada de presentar "¿Cómo se celebra Semana Santa en los Estados Unidos?". Nuestros alumnos disfrutaron aprendiendo como teñir un huevo de Pascua, qué hay que hacer en una "Caza del huevo de Pascua", quién es el conejito de pascua y cuales son los típicos dulces o pasteles que se toman.

WHEN WAS THE FIRST VOYAGE AROUND THE WORLD, 6TH GRADERS?. ¿CUÁNDO FUE EL PRIMER VIAJE ALREDEDOR DEL MUNDO, ALUMN@S DE 6º ED.PRIMARIA?

Our 6th Year students have studied Modern Age in history and all the new discoveries and developments that took place during such a period. Actually, they were interested in Fernando Magallanes and Juan Sebastián Elcano since they were the first explorers to travel around the world.
Given that, they elaborated detailed maps with their routes and even with handmade boats (a nutshell) that move.The students used modelling clay, cork, wire, cardboard, foam, sticks and nutshells.

Nuestros alumnos de 6º Ed. Primaria han estudiado en historia la Edad Moderna y todos los nuevos descubrimientos que ella conlleva. De hecho, estaban especialmente interesados en los primeros exploradores que dieron la primera vuelta al mundo: Fernando Magallanes y Juan Sebastián Elcano. Por este motivo, elaboraron mapas detallando las rutas con barcos que inclusive se mueven. Los alumnos utilizaron plastilina, corcho, poliespán, alambre, goma eva, palillos y cáscara de nuez.

Our 2nd graders were working on landscapes and perspective, matching colours and revising the elements of a rural scenery. Let's have a look at their colourful productions!:

HOW MANY TYPES OF HABITATS ARE THERE, 4TH GRADERS?. ¿CUÁNTOS TIPOS DE HÁBITATS HAY, CHIC@S DE 4º ED.PRIMARIA?

Our 4th graders worked on the different types of habitats, their vegetation or flora and fauna. For the sake of that, they elaborated wonderful and very interesting wall posters pointing out the main features:

Before Saint Patrick's Day, we also celebrated St. Valentine's Day elaborating crafts or wrting poems or rhymes. Let's cheer this day up!:

Our 5th graders decorated the corridor with colourful hearts and sweet birds. Well done, girls and boys!:

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!. ¡FELIZ DÍA DE SAN PATRICIO!

Last Sunday 17th March was celebrated St. Patrick's Day- Ireland's patron. We also celebrated it in our classrooms writing rhymes and working on the legend all the week long.

El pasado domingo 17 de marzo celebramos el Día de San Patricio; el Patrón de Irlanda. También lo celebramos en nuestras aulas  escribiendo rimas y trabajando sobre la leyenda durante la semana:

 In the 3rd cycle, Andie explained how such a day is celebrated in The States under the American point of view.
En el tercer ciclo (5º y 6º Ed. Primaria), Andie nos explicó cómo se celebra esta festividad en los Estados Unidos.

In addition to that, our 5th graders decorated their corridor with the lucky colour!:

'OUR ENGLISH CORNER' AT SCHOOL. "NUESTRO RINCÓN INGLÉS" EN EL COLEGIO.

We have updated our "English corner" at school to include more aspects we are working from the English Department. One wall is devoted to our Language Assistants and on the other wall is exhibited all the news from our English Twin School in Maidstone, Kent, England.

Hemos actualizado nuestro "Rincón Inglés" en el colegio con el fin de incluir algunos de los puntos que estamos trabajando desde el Departamento. Una pared está dedicada a nuestras Auxiliares de Conversación y la otra a las novedades de nuestros amigos de la Escuela Gemela inglesa con la que estamos hermanados de Maidstone, Kent, Inglaterra.
